when i was in portland, i was on a podcast with my friend lizz winstead. she co-created the daily show and is totally cool and funny. she’s also absurdly good at puns. the podcast is called “the biggest mistake” and it is hosted by paul jay and dan dominguez. they are funny and quick-witted, and i was hung-over and up way earlier than the god lord ever intended me to be so they made most of the jokes. nevertheless, i had a good time, and if you would like to listen to it – you can find it at thebiggestmistake.net

Factories, Stand-Up, etc.

i did a set at the laugh factory in hollywood recently. they filmed it, and you can view some of it here. at one point, they cut away to the crowd, which is full and attentive. hollywood trickery. the audience i remember was slightly smaller and slightly more tired, but i still thought they were nice and the club as a whole was pretty cool.

the bridgetown comedy festival was awesome. portland was beautiful. the comics were funny. thanks to andy for inviting me and putting the whole thing together. and shouts out to my pals austin and reich and their significant others. austin cheats at video games.

i’ll be in portland thursday through sunday at the comedy festival. you can see the schedule for the entire weekend here. i’m judging an air guitar contest on thursday. it’s the only thing i’ve ever been over-qualified for in my life. the caption contest is still open. even though he was just using it as a way to link to his own site, i’m partial to snake’s entry.

there is no new comic this week (there is a sweet new playlist full of country gold in the audio page. if you don’t like country or if you think johnny cash is the only good one, you probably you won’t like it.) but there is this little sketch to the left. (click on it to enlarge) if you’d like to help write the caption, just leave a comment and we’ll vote on the best few. the best one will get like a free CD (or a t-shirt, poster, whatever you might want. candy?) and the original version of the finished comic (value=$0). just write dialogue for A,B, and C …or any combination of them. you can make the snake and patient chip in as well if you’d like.

Sun Valley

i was in sun valley last week with tig. we performed at the boiler room, and they gave us ski passes. this is the view from on top of the mountain. i hadn’t skied in a while, so i was a little rusty. i went off a jump at one point and was going to do a spin, but mid-air i realized that i had forgotten how. so, i just flew into the air and landed on my side like a real ace. i slid down the hill like a hundred feet. luckily some nice folks brought down my skis to me. i took it a little easier after that. there’s a new poll (lower right) this week so i can get to the bottom of how people feel about the ninja turtles, and some new blather about getting married.

there’s a new comic up – the first of the new year. it is called human emotions. i’m working on the store, so that should be up shortly. it will just be the CD, stickers and posters for now, but i’m going to have some new t-shirts in there eventually. the mailing list is back intact (bottom right). i transferred most of the names who were already on it, but if you haven’t received any emails you may have to sign up again. the shows page is also re-tooled, so it’s way more helpful now as far as when and where and what time and how much, so you won’t have to call me before the show. have a good january. i’ll be in sun valley, id at the end of the month.

hello, thanks for stopping by. the website is a little different this year. this new format should make it a lot easier for me to upload new stuff more regularly. it’s not completely finished yet, so if you see anything glaringly wrong feel free to send me an email, and i’ll try to fix it. content from the old site isn’t on here yet, but i’ll start importing some of it in soon. for now, you can still look at the comics (and you can navigate through them with that little banner underneath them), there are some new sketches, and the videos are up as well. have a good 2010.

Santa Crawl

festive crips, the holidays are in mid-swing. hopefully yours are going well. i went to the reno ’santa crawl’ this weekend. 1000 drunken santas running around downtown reno. it was pretty fun. there is now an rss feed for the site. see that little icon on the right side of the browser? click on that, subscribe to the feed, and never have to check for updates here again. it will let you know when the site has been updated. nice, right? less work. santa is in the south 40. happy holidays.
